So 2 of my daughters and I spent an hour on a summer morning picking these beautiful strawberries. Each of us took a different section to pick in and we came home with 6 different types of strawberries to try!
We called our neighbors and some friends and gave them a meeting time and got to work! We washed them all, keeping them all seperate and then gave everyone a plate that looked like this...
Then made a sheet with all the names of the strawberries on the top, all the names of the people trying down the side and everyone was given the opportunity to rate the taste based on a 1-6 scale...1 being best, 6 being worst.
Here's the official "Try Something New-Strawberries" event. The least favorite was the strawberry called "Big Idea" which was a big sour-but we tried it without the sugar-after adding the sugar, they were much better! The favorite of the day was the Earligrow-a small, sweet strawberry.
A big thanks to Huhn Strawberry Farm for the delicious strawberries and their patience as we took time to keep all the different varieties seperated! Check them out at www.huhnstrawberryfarm.com but go quickly...they are almost done picking!!
